Rafale Vandy One

To help alleviate the US Navy Super Hornet problem and to diversify its Air Wings, the Department of Defense purchased 200 Rafales. The only changes made were to their canopies. All USN Rafales canopies are hinged in the rear and open vertically. This one, the last Rafale delivered to the USN is assigned to VX-4 “The Evaluators” based at NAS Point Mugu.

MICA missile master parts were molded, and pressure cast resin copies. 

Intake plugs are super sculpey and exhaust covers is sheet styrene

Paint used was Testors enamels. 

Tamiya clear gloss thinned with Mr. Color leveling thinner
